bracing for change.

What is Bracedon? It’s a great question and probably the reason you’re here, unless you meant to search knee braces.

Whilst your creaky joints are outside our knowledge base, presenting a new option for builders who want to replace timber temporary bracing on their sites, well thats something we know about.

Our braces are aluminium channels manufactured in NZ (of course) from mostly recycled aluminium and our braces will last 10-15 times longer than timber in the same scenarios.

Every timber framed house needs it, you can’t avoid it, so why not use something that can be re-used time and time again? The benefits save you money, the environment and we’d like to think, create safer building sites.

Why do we do it? We aim to have prevented 80,000 lineal meters of timber from even reaching landfill by the end of 2027. Sounds a lot? It is, but its only a fraction of the amount of timber heading to the skip across NZ yearly.

We think its time for something different.

no LBP points, but still interesting (we hope)

  • in short, yes the production of aluminium is worse than that of timber, the issue becomes is when it gets used and goes to landfill (check a site bin, its full of timber).

to help lessen our impact, Bracedon is manufactured in NZ from the countries only re-melt smelter using recycled aluminium, meaning the carbon footprint is nearly 8 times better than if extruded from virgin material.

  • if you want to know best practice for installing and uninstalling our braces see our information sheet attached above.

  • so you’ve hired a house-lot and the annual site Olympics used our braces as a handy pole vault alternative? whilst we applaud the ingenuity, the simple answer is like most stores:

    you break, you buy it.

all lengths damaged beyond usability will be charged out at rrp of $95 + gst.

  • we get it, saving timber from landfill isn’t exclusive to Auckland.

we are working hard at channels to supply throughout New Zealand but if you’re keen on Bracedon please get in touch and we’ll see what we can figure it out.

  • want to commit full time instead of keeping it casual?

Bracedon has been priced to be competitive compared to timber from a hiring standpoint, however if its a dealbreaker get in touch.
